Troop Meeting

I have a great desire to see young men grow into godly men. In order to accomplish this, we need other godly men building into each other and our young ones. This will be a weekend of focusing on how we can be better men and teach our boys to become godly men. The fellowship and encouragement from other men and boys frees us from the isolation of modern life. We need other godly men, and in the same way, our young men need other godly godly young men. This is a 24-hour committment to build something that lasts so much longer. Please consider being a part this year. Quick overview: *This will be a time of teaching lessons on manhood. Fathers and sons will be involved in the lessons and activities. There will be a manhood ceremony for young men 12 and up who would like to participate at the end (please let me know ASAP if your son falls into this category and/or you want more details). * My parents have 60 acres near Mineola, TX. It will be primitive camping, no water or electricity. We might not be able to drive to the camping area if we have too much rain. We have a cart for bringing things. Its about a 1/2 of a mile from the house. * There will be structured activities and lessons starting Friday at 6pm until Saturday at 4pm. Staying Saturday night is optional. * We will provide group dinner Friday, group breakfast and group lunch on Saturday. The cost will be $15 per person. Other meals will be on your own. * I want to make this as easy as possible for anyone who wants to come, if you need any camping supplies, let me know. * This is for boys age 5 and older. * Lastly, pray, that the boys who attend would encounter God and become His men. Boxes of Blessing! We will be helping pack boxes of canned good for families in need during the holidays. This is a come and go type event, so if you can only be there for part of the time, that is totally fine. Jobs include the assembly line, constructing boxes, taping completed boxes, etc. This is a come and go type event, so come when you can. The goal is 11000 boxes this year! Meet at Voice of Hope to unload/prepare boxes for delivery and then distribute them to the local neighborhood. There will also be opportunities to setup the gym and support volunteers that are working. Older Mountain Lions, Navigators, and Adventurers recommended.

Bring a gift $15 or less (no guns/knives please). Adults can participate as well (see 'Tip' below). Feel free to bring any snacks you'd like to share. No opening ceremony, we'll just divided into two groups (Woodlands & Nav/Adv). Adults choose whichever group it makes the most sense for you to be a part of. Rules: Turn Order: Everyone draws a number, which defines the order in which people go. What Do I Do? On your turn, either pick an unopened gift or steal a non-frozen gift. Once you touch a gift, it is yours for that turn (No shaking or handling multiple gifts) Stealing Rules: On your turn, instead of choosing a new gift, you can steal an already opened gift that isn't yet frozen. Each gift can be stolen twice, so the third person to hold it becomes the final owner and the gift is now considered 'frozen'. Turn Flow: If you have a gift stolen from you, it is immediately your turn again to pick a new gift, or steal someone else's. (Note: You cannot immediately steal back a gift that was just stolen from you within the same round; however, you can steal one you owned earlier as long as it is not yet frozen) Final Bonus Turn: After all gifts are opened, the person who drew number 1 gets a final turn. They may either swap their current gift with any unfrozen gift, or open a new unopened gift, if any remain. The game is over after this turn. ( Note: Feel free to trade gifts after this is over, if you'd like.) A tip for competitive adults: Remember, we're here for the youth's benefit so if you are participating as a dad, I recommend you being ready to 'sacrifice' your turn (i.e. steal from a kid who doesn't want the gift they opened, if needed). You don't have to do this, but it helps keep the mood fun for the youth.

🔒 Nav/Adv Lock In (Grades 6–12) Friday, February 13 | 6:00 PM – Saturday, 10:00 AM This lock-in runs with a Beast Games–style competition format . Students compete as Red vs Blue teams for team points, while also earning individual Worthy Bucks through surprise challenges and stage games. Worthy Bucks are saved for a Saturday morning prize auction . 🕕 Friday Evening 6:00–6:30 PM | Arrival & Check-In Sleeping gear setup in youth room. Red or Blue wristbands issued. Teams create a chant to present after dinner. 6:30–7:00 PM | Dinner + Trivia & Ad-Hoc Challenges Pizza, wings, and drinks provided. Team trivia for points. Surprise Worthy Buck challenges, including: Chubby Bunny marshmallow challenge (4 per team) Sticky Note Wall challenge (outdoor brick wall, 3–4 throws each, highest wins) 7:00–8:00 PM | Team Competition #1 - Dolphin Training (you'll find out) 8:00–9:00 PM | Team Competition #2 30 MIN - RED TEAM: Sword Drill (Bring a PHYSICAL/ACTUAL Bible) 30 MIN - BLUE TEAM: SUPER SECRET COMPETITION Note: These occur happen simultaneously, then the teams swap activities for the second 30 minutes 🌙 Late Night 9:00–10:00 PM | Team Competition #3 - Night Game 11:00–TBD | Jam Session (Bring your instruments/amps) Student-led guitars, drums, and open hangout. Bonus Worthy Bucks or team points may be awarded. 11:00 PM–12:00 AM | Also Free Play & Random Challenges Open gym, board games, casual challenges. 12:00 AM–8:00 AM | Optional All-Nighter Sleeping or quiet hangout.
