8th Annual Trail Life USA Worthy Derby

Note: Only ONE car allowed per registered racer, and you must be present to receive a trophy!

On February 28, 2026, Troop TX-0147 is hosting the 8th Annual Trail Life USA Worthy Derby for all Trail Life USA troops who wish to participate, boys and adults alike! This event is open to all family members who would like to attend and cheer on their favorite Trailmen.

Trophies will be awarded in two areas: Speed and Design. The competition will be divided into four leagues:

  • Dragsters (Woodlands Trail)
  • Hot Rods (Navigators & Adventurers)
  • Shelbys (AHG girl members)
  • Outlaws (Adults)

NOTES:

  • 3D-printed cars are allowed, as long as they conform to the same rules and restrictions regarding design and weight regulations.
  • Use BSA/Awana licensed kits -or- your own compliant 3D printed model

RACE DAY: February 28th, 2026 9am-Noon LOCATION: The Park Christian Community Church at 2701 N Town E Blvd, Mesquite, TX 75150 (Google MAP Link) We recommend you arrive a little early if possible on Race Day in order to complete the official check-in process as all racers must be weighed-in and on the staging table before our opening ceremonies begin. Besides, we’ll have refreshments too, so come enjoy!

SCHEDULE

9:00 – 9:45 Registration, Inspection, and Check-In. Weight/graphite changes ARE allowed before final check-in. ALL CARS MUST BE CHECKED IN BY 9:45 (any last-minute modifications to pass inspection should be fully completed by this time) 9:45 – 10:00 Opening Ceremony (Troop TX-147) Welcome, troop introduction, race rules and procedures 10:00 – 12:00 First round, each division (calculate top cars in each division to compete in upcoming championship round) Short program, troop/patrol yells, championship round for each division 12:00 – 12:15 Awards ceremony and closing

COST & REGISTRATION

  • Early-Bird: Through February 27th @ $5 per racer (Online: via this website)
  • Day-Of: February 28th @ $10 per racer (at the door, in person)

Note: You can still register in-person on race day as long as your car is approved at the weigh-in table in by 9:45am at the latest.
