Lemonade Stand or Other DIY

If your family would like to get creative, there are lots of different options. We’d love to hear what you devise with your kids’ input! Whatever you do, keep your kids involved as much as possible. It’s *so* much harder to resist a kid fundraising for themselves. 😉

Tips & Tricks:

  • Make eye-catching signs/posters
  • Advertise in local neighborhood groups
  • Pick a strategic location
  • Wear your troop uniform
  • Offer extra treats or add-ons (maybe even have a few bags of Giving Bean coffee/tea)
  • Practice excellent customer service with a respectful attitude

It’s totally up to y’all what you sell, what you charge (or leave that up to the customer), and how you cover supplies. Please keep in mind that we are allowed to accept donations when offered, but we are not supposed to request donations outright (Trail Life home office policy).

Some ideas to get your kids’ thinking about what they might want to do…

  • Drink Stand – lemonade, slushy/snow cone, hot cocoa, sparkling water, etc
  • Bake Sale or Salty Snacks
  • Craft items – paracord bracelets, crochet stuffies, 3D printed items, etc
  • Babysitting, pet-sitting, lawncare (for older kids)
  • Host a ticketed dinner with a game night or talent show, and make sure the kids help prepare and serve the food.
  • Garage Sale

There are PRIZES for the top 3 sellers as well as a Prize Catalog that everyone gets to order from based on how much they sold – 1 point earned for each $10 profit AND for every $10 in donations. After you get a final point total from our Treasurer once the fundraiser closes, you may submit your Trailman’s prize selection. Examples:

  • $150 turned in from a lemonade/drink stand = 15 prize points
  • $60 turned in from a ticketed dinner/talent show + $50 donated = 11 prize points

The goal is $100+ in profit turned in for each Trailman.

*Note*: If your family chooses not to participate in the fundraiser, troop dues for the year are $100 per Trailman. Dues will be pro-rated for Trailmen who do not hit the fundraising goal.
