American Heritage Girls

Mission: Building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country.

Oath: “I promise to love God, cherish my family, honor my country, and serve in my community.”

American Heritage Girls (AHG) began 25 years ago with one troop in Ohio started by Patti Garibay. The goal was to provide a faith-based character building & adventure program for girls. AHG welcomes girls from 5-18yo.

About Troop TX0147

American Heritage Girls Troop TX0147 was chartered in September of 2021. Our charter organization is The Park Christian Community Church. Many of our families have been part of our partner troop, Trail Life Troop TX-0147 (est. 2014), for several years, and we are excited to now add a ministry to serve Moms and Daughters as well!

  • Calendar/Schedule:
    • We meet at 7pm on the first, second, and third Tuesdays of the month near Walnut Hill/Skillman.
    • The rest of the troop calendar includes activities such as campouts, day trips, a fundraiser, special family events, etc.
  • Costs:
    • $40 registration fee per girl (capped at $120 per family)
    • $40 parent registration fee
    • Uniforms: $30-55 + white polo and navy/khaki bottoms
      • Class A Uniforms:
        • Pathfinder (5-6): t-shirt, necklace, navy bottoms
        • Tenderheart (6-9): white polo, red vest with insignia, navy neckerchief, navy bottoms
        • Explorer (9-12): white polo, navy vest with insignia, red neckerchief, navy/khaki bottoms
        • Pioneer (12-14): white polo, navy sash with insignia, navy/khaki bottoms
        • Patriot (14-18): red polo, navy sash with insignia, navy/khaki bottoms
        • You can purchase each item separately, or there are also full start-up packages for $31-85, including a sheet of “Badge Magic” to help attach the flag patch, troop numbers, and first few badges/service stars.
      • Class B Uniforms: $16 AHG t-shirt + navy/khaki/jeans bottoms
    • Handbooks: All Girl Members will also need to purchase a handbook ($10-20, depending on their level).
    • Annual dues are $75 per girl.
    • There will be a fundraiser each year which should cover most troop costs as well as subsidize additional family expenses. There is typically an opportunity to have the dues waived with fundraiser participation.
  • Needs:
    • Active participation to help the girls as they learn, including volunteers to rotate weekly teaching responsibilities.
    • Two-deep leadership covered for each separate group. All registered adults have passed a background check, completed a KEYS child-safety training course, and submitted personal references.
    • If you would like to discuss joining the troop or have any questions, please contact us.

Do you have boys, too?

We have a partner Trail Life USA troop which meets
at the same time and in the same location as AHG TX0147!
They welcome boys from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
