About Troop TX0147

American Heritage Girls Troop TX0147 was chartered in September of 2021. Our charter organization is Watermark Community Church. Many of our families have been part of our partner troop, Trail Life Troop TX-0147 (est. 2014), for several years, and we are excited to now have a ministry to serve Moms and Daughters as well!
- Calendar/Schedule:
- We meet at 7pm on the first, second, and third Tuesdays of the month near 75/635 in North Dallas.
- The rest of the troop calendar includes activities such as campouts, day trips, a fundraiser, special family events, etc.
- Costs:
- Registration Fees: Paid to AHG Home Office to cover liability insurance, volunteer background checks, etc.
- $43 per girl (capped at $114 per family)
- $43 per parent/adult who is attending regularly. All registered adults must pass a background check, complete a KEYS child-safety training course, and submit personal references.
- Uniforms & Handbooks:
- Class A Uniform: $35-95 vest or sash bundle + white polo and navy/khaki bottoms.
- Class B Uniform: $16 AHG ‘Reach Higher’ unit level t-shirt + navy/khaki/jeans bottoms. (Optional for casual events.)
- Handbooks: $11 for Pathfinders, $20 for Tenderheart/Explorer (lasts up to 6yrs), $20 for Pioneer/Patriot (lasts up to 6yrs).
- Detailed Uniform Info with links to purchase.
- Troop Dues: $100 per girl paid directly to the Troop – assessed after the Fall Fundraiser if your family chooses not participate in fundraising. This fee covers badges/patches earned with the troop, unit supplies, the majority of our event costs, etc.
- Registration Fees: Paid to AHG Home Office to cover liability insurance, volunteer background checks, etc.
- Awards & Advancements: Girls earn badges (or beads for Pathfinders) based on the work they complete during unit time. There are additional advancements possible for service hours, faith awards, and at each unit level. They also earn fun patches for participating in special events during the year! If you want to learn more, there is a bunch of info here.
In order to function well as a troop, we need active adult participation to help the girls as they learn, including volunteers to rotate weekly teaching responsibilities and Two-deep leadership covered for each separate group. It is also extremely helpful to have additional volunteers to assist with administrative tasks and event planning.
If you would like to discuss joining the troop or have any questions, please contact us.

Do you have boys, too?
We have a partner Trail Life USA troop which meets
at the same time and in the same location as AHG TX0147!
They welcome boys from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
